Kaleido Psychiatry offers consultation to community health organisations in regional and rural Victoria who are working with young members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Depending on the work of the organisation, this may include general psychiatric assessments, gender identity assessments for accessing gender-affirming treatments, individual and family psychotherapy, medication management, case conferences, and consultations.
Please note, Kaleido Psychiatry is not currently offering private services to individuals and families who are not engaged with a community health organisation.
Kaleido Psychiatry is committed to improving the lives and wellbeing of young members of the LGBTQIA+ community through optimisation of mental health, providing pathways to holistic care and treatment, enhancing family and peer support networks, and helping young people to develop pride in their identity.

Jared is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who has extensive experience working with young members of the LGBTQIA+ community. After working at Alfred Health and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Jared was drawn to work in regional and rural areas due to the breadth of the work on offer and the lifestyle. He is experienced working with all mental health presentations in children, adolescents and youth, in public, community health and private settings. Jared has particular interests in developmental trauma, early psychosis, LGBTQIA+ mental health, and individual and family psychotherapy, as well as improving health service delivery. A member of AusPATH, Jared is experienced at performing gender identity assessments in order for young people to access gender-affirming treatment.
Jared takes an eclectic approach to practicing psychiatry, balancing elements of humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, developmental and psychodynamic theories. This allows for a thorough understanding of the needs of each individual, within the context of their family and wider community.
